Early Voting Starts Monday

Updated: October 16, 2008

The Texas Secretary of State is begging people in the Hub City to get out and vote early. Secretary Hope Andrade visited Lubbock's Election Office Thursday and says we're ready for November's elections. Andrade expects huge voter turnout numbers, and encourages everyone to beat the lines and vote early. Early voting starts Monday and will last through the end of October. You can cast your ballot at any United Supermarket except the one on 50th and Indiana.

"Because of the voter turnout we're expecting I will tell you that if you do early voting you will not have to wait as long as if you do voting on November 4th," says Andrade.

Polls open at 10 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday next week. And during the final week of early voting, polls will be open from 8 to 8.
