Early voting starts Monday, and the Elections Office is working overtime to get things ready.  A record turnout is expected for early voting, so beating the lines may be next to impossible.  But, officials are still encouraging voters to get it done now rather than later.

Dorothy Kennedy with the County Elections office says they are expecting over a hundred thousand voters this year, and the numbers other states have already seen shows there could be even more.  She says we are a 50/50 county, meaning they plan to see 55 thousand voters come in the 12 days of early voting and the other 55 thousand in the 12 hours of election day.

All you need is your orange voter certificate, but you can also use a photo identification.  Early voting is at all United Supermarkets, except the Market Street at 50th and Indiana.  The times and dates are all listed at www.votelubbock.org or just call their hotline at 775-1868.
