Election officials hope voters take advantage of the early voting period, which started today at 10 a.m. Early voting is going on right now and goes through October 31st.
You can cast your ballot at the Office of Elections or at all United Supermarkets, except the Market Street at 50th and Indiana. The most important thing to remember, if you do come out and vote early, bring a form of identification with you. If you have your orange voter registration card, it will help to speed up the process for you.
We found Sheriff Gutierrez casting his early vote today, looking to avoid the long lines on election day.
"This is a crucial election year, as all elections are, but this one particularly. It's a presidential year and we've got some excellent candidates not only nationally, but statewide and locally and it's crucial that we get out early to vote," Sheriff Gutierrez says.
If you have any questions about where and when you can vote early, just go to votelubbock.org or call 775-1868.
