Lubbock's early voting numbers are shattering records. Wednesday is just day three of early voting, and the Elections Office says almost 15,000 people have already voted. Wednesday morning almost 700 people voted in the first hour that polls opened. Experts say these numbers show how historic this race has proven to be and how media coverage has boosted voter education.

"The exposure of this election is so massive, and we see it so much in newspapers and TV, everywhere we go that I think people have no choice but to have an opinion and once you have an opinion you might as well make it heard in the voting booth," says Texas Tech Debate Coach Joe Gantt.
