It's being hailed as the biggest football game in the history of Texas Tech.

But Saturday's game is more than a chance for Tech to go 9 and 0, it's putting Lubbock in the national spotlight again.

Eddie McBride with the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce says this weekend will be the largest of the year for retail sales in West Texas.

McBride says the Chamber hasn't received this many phone calls since Coach Bob Knight announced he was coming to coach basketball at Texas Tech.

And he says the national exposure alone, amounts to quite a bit of advertising and marketing dollars for Tech Athletics.

"It's even bigger than I think most people can imagine, as far as the national prominence this game will be for Saturday," McBride says.

He says you can't put a dollar amount on the return Lubbock will see from this weekend's game.
