Raiderville Gets the Vote Out

Just because there's a big election today, doesn't mean the number two ranking for Texas Tech has been forgotten. And oday might be the day that we elect a new president, but that's not stopping the Raiderville kids from getting front row seats at this Saturday's game, so we came out here to Raiderville to see how these kids are managing today's big vote.
It's an obviously quieter scene this afternoon for folks camping out in Raiderville, but the decision for '08 hasn't quite been forgotten.
We spoke to several students out there, most voted in their hometowns, absentee, or were part of the nearly 70,000 voters in Lubbock County and went early.
As for losing their place in line?
Freshmen Stephanie Day and Jana Lanford both voted on campus, but made sure there were some friends left behind to hold down the fort. However... Daniel McDavid wasn't too worried, he -- like the girls -- just wanted to get his vote out and make it count.
Daniel McDavid, Raiderville Resident: "The tents are here, I wasn't worried. A lot of people did early voting that were camping with us so they wouldn't have to worry about it, but I like voting on election day."
Jana Lanford, Freshman: "We've all had tests this week, but we're still all coming out here and camping, and voting.
So even though there is a big game this Saturday, most of the students that we talked to out here haven't let it get in the way of getting their vote out.
