A Lubbock teen will spend the rest of his life in prison without the chance of parole, after a Lubbock jury convicts him of capital murder.  The jury decided the 18-year-old boy was guilty of taking part in a robbery and shooting at a local nightclub, that left two dead and another critically injured.   It took the jury just under two hours to come back with the guilty verdict, and while the families of the victims left the courtroom saying justice was served, the family of the convicted murderer didn't agree.

The sister of 18-year-old Joseph Nunez was visibly shocked to hear the jury found Nunez guilty of capital murder Wednesday afternoon.  Nunez is one of three men who carried out a robbery and shooting at the Boom Boom Cabaret back in October, 2006.  Club employees Anthony Lopez and Gilbert Victor were killed, another was injured, but survived. The jury decided even though Nunez did not pull the trigger in the crime, he was just as guilty as the shooter because evidence showed Nunez participated willingly in the robbery, helped hide and destroy evidence afterwards, and seemed to have no problem spending his cut of the robbery money.  They had receipts showing he spent the $2,000 he got on an XBOX, a vacuum for his mom, and other unnecessary things.
Nunez is the third, and final defendent to be convicted and sentenced in this case.  Just a few weeks ago, 19-year-old Christopher Crittenden plead guilty to his role in the crime and got 50 years in prison.  Back in May of 2007, the triggerman, Richard Ramirez, also plead guilty and got life in prison without parole.  Nunez does have to the right to appeal this conviction.
