Evolution vs. Creationism

As the State Board of Education meets Wednesday to discuss new science curriculum standards, the often controversial debate of Evolution versus Intelligent Design is at the forefront.
A new study finds that 95% of science professors at public and private uiversities in Texas are against the state policy that requires weaknesses in the theory of evolution to be taught in public science classes. The majority said that schools should teach only evolution when covering the origins of life on earth, while others said children should learn both evolution and the creationist theory of 'intelligent design'.
Says Tech biology professor Dr. Michael Dini, "Science and religion are two very different things, and they should be directed at answering very different types of questions." Mike Hill is a science teacher at Lubbock Christian School, and says, "I don't think we can use science and religion...we can't make them exclusive of each other.This is a created world, and science is part of that."
