Average cost of a Thanksgiving Feast that will feed 10 peopIe went up $2.35 this year bringing up the average cost to $44.61.

According to Forbes Magazine, the biggest culprit is the turkey with an average increase of roughly $1.50 for a 16 pound turkey.

Energy costs and tough economic times are the motivators for the price hikes.

There is some good news.  Butter, milk and potatoes have taken a price dive and many grocery stores are marking things down to help out during the holidays.

Many families here in Lubbock are resorting to pot-luck style dinners to cut costs.
