Tough economic times meant big savings for Black Friday shoppers.

Many retail stores in Lubbock were slashing prices and are continuing their sales throughout the weekend while n years past they would end Black Friday afternoon.

IPods, televisions and electronics were big sellers, but unlike past years, there was no dominant item on many people's wish lists.

Many shoppers in Lubbock said it took longer for them to buy items this year because stores were in fiercer competition to sell at a lower price.
