Tech Develops Terrorism Defense

Texas Tech is receiving international recognition for a newly- developed 'decontamination wipe' that's leading the way in bioterrorism defense. Fibertect, a 'dry-wipe product,' was developed by researchers at the Institute of Environmental and Human Health at Texas Tech over at Reese Technology Center.It's been tested by federal laboratories and has been proven the best product on the market for cleaning up chemical warfare agents and toxic chemicals. The innovative product will be used by the US military and our first responders.
On Wednesday morning, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison was on hand to commend Texas Tech's accomplishment, "The army loved it, they had several tested from around the country, and the Texas Tech product came out on top." Says Dr. Ron Kendall of the Institute, "We must be prepared for a biological and chemical attack within the next 5 years, and I think these are the kinds of technologies we need to deal with these kinds of threats."
