A domestic disturbance turns deadly in a West Lubbock neighborhood around 4:30 Sunday morning. Now, a Lubbock man is dead and police have arrested his girlfriend for murder.Police responded to anapartment on the 4400 Block of 20th street, after someone called in a domestic disturbance. Outside the apartment, officers found a woman hysterically crying. Inside they found 32-year-old Joshua Caleb Hope barely alive with a single stab wound to his chest. EMS rushed Hope to UMC where he was pronounced dead. Immediately, police took Hope's girlfriend, 26-year-old Tiffany Monique Pitts, into custody, and as of Sunday night police say she was being held on murder charges in the case.
Police say they aren't sure yet what the couple was arguing about before the stabbing, but records show the couple does not have a history of domestic violence, at least in Lubbock County. Hope was raising four of Pitts children as his own. We're told family members are taking care of the kids for now. Pitts is being held on murder charges, but has not been booked into the Lubbock County Jail, yet. We'll keep you updated.
