The South Plains Food Bank's December drive didn't bring in as many canned food items as they were hoping, but a local company is stepping in and helping out. Atmos Energy has partnered with Town & Country food stores and area churches to pick up more canned food. From now until this Monday, December 22nd, you can drop off canned goods at any Town & Country store. Atmos Energy trucks will pick up the donations Monday morning and take them to the South Plains Food Bank that evening.

"Our numbers are up, quite a bit of people in need of food for various reasons, but certainly the economy and various issues are causing us to see greater amounts of people right now and in the past few months," says Kyle Rogers.

The food they get from their drive usually lasts through April or May, but right now, the food bank only has enough to last through February.
