Lockney High School staff and students got back on their feet Wednesday morning, returning to class for the first time since their school was destroyed by fire Sunday night. Lockney's principal says it's been a smooth transition to their temporary school at the First Baptist Church.

Many classrooms, however, are still suffering from a shortage of textbooks. Students spent much of their first day back writing 'thank you cards' to those who've helped them through this tough time. Everyone says they're relieved to get back on track.

Says history teacher Sam Moore, "It doesn't matter what building we're in, the goals we set at the beginning of the year and to graduate, will continue." Math teacher and cheer coach Pam Fulton agrees, "We have no choice but to move forward, but these kids don't know how to quit, they have a drive in them that's never-ending."
