Another fire this week kept Lubbock Fire Department busy over night.

A fire broke out early Thursday morning in an East Lubbock home on the 4600 block of Avenue C.

The home was vacant, but after inspecting the scene investigators believe arson was involved.  They say they are disturbed because the fire was close to other inhabited homes.

"Because there are no utilities hooked up to this structure, there are no other sources of ignition," said Public Information Officer for Lubbock FD Garrett Nelson.  "I was bale to rule that out right away. That leaves us with a human had to be involved  at some point."

Investigators say they do not believe this fire is related to the an arson case that took place earlier this week in Central Lubbock.
