Tuesday's historic inauguration ceremony had many in Lubbock reflecting on our divisive past and optimistic about the future. District Two City Councilman Floyd Price watched the inauguration from his home. Price grew up in a segregated society and was inspired by the speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He never thought he'd see the day when an African American became president. "If you look at his cabinet it's got all kinds of races of people there, all religions, you've got women there. And so I think- I know- this is what America's supposed to be and stand for," says Price.
The t-shirt Price was wearing today is actually a portrait of Obama done by an artist in Atlanta. Price is working to bring the portrait here to Lubbock.
