Officials are blaming the icy roads for several accidents around the Hub Monday.  One of those accidents involved a DPS trooper.

Around 11:30 Monday morning at the overpass at I27 and FM 2641, officials say a black truck lost control and spun into the median.  As DPS Trooper Veronica Garcia was on the scene of that accident, a minivan coming down the same road lost control sliding right into the DPS cruiser.  Luckily, there were no major injuries in that crash.

Just a bit later, Lubbock Police were swamped with 5 separate accidents all on a half mile stretch of road at the underpass near the South Loop and I27.
