LISD administrators decided to delay school two hours on Wednesday, but with icy road conditions this morning, bus drivers were still up early, getting ready to get the kids to school safely. Driver Melody Zuniga was up early de-icing her bus and making sure it was warmed up for the kids. She tells us the residential roads were pretty icy this morning. She and other drivers just took it very slow. But Melody says the 2-hour delay is tough.

Once they hit the first stop, weather and other drivers cause further delays, making it a chaotic day, "The teachers in the schools already know we're gonna be behind, so we try to explain to the parents ahead of time that we will probably be late. When you're carrying other people's children, of course the first thing on your mind is getting them to school safely."
