On Friday, the Lubbock Heart Hospital responded to recent reports about a fine from state health officials. They say the reports are much ado about nothing, and they want the public to know.

In May of last year, the Texas Department of State Health inspected the Heart Hospital and found 6 violations. They ranged from things like a torn mattress to documentation issues. They were fined $5-thousand dollars for the violations.

But Chief Nurse Officer Lauree Ford says these are minor problems that could be found at any hospital. Hospital staff immediately implemented an action plan and quickly took care of any problems.

Ford explains one of the issues the hospital was cited for, "When you're a nurse, your primary focus being a nurse is taking care of a patient. The nurses, they definitely carry out the physicians orders to a 'T', just occasionally yes, they will forget, and it's human nature, to have forgotten to document something. We take great care of our patients, I would bring any one of my family members to this hospital without thinking twice about it."
