The Lubbock Heart Hospital responded to recent reports about a fine from state health officials.

In May of last year, the Texas Department of State Health Services inspected the Heart Hospital and found 6 violations. They ranged from things like a torn mattress to documentation issues. They were fined $9,100 dollars but after responding quickly to the problems, the fine was reduced to $5,000 dollars for the violations.

Chief Nurse Officer Lauree Ford says these are common, minor problems that could be found at any hospital. Hospital staff immediately implemented an action plan and quickly took care of any problems.
