The Lubbock Fire Department worked to put out a 2-alarm fire at Villa Town motel Monday night.

Five engines, two ladder trucks and almost 40 personnel responded to the fire around 6:30 PM.  Fire officials say the fire started in room 258 and the attic space above it.  Witnesses say they believe the fire started from the heating system.  All of the Villa Town residents were evacuated while fire crews worked to contain the fire.

Chris Angerer with the Lubbock fire department says they had the fire out within twenty minutes, and no injuries were reported.
Now they're working with management at the motel to put some residents in other rooms for the night.
