DPS Officials continue their investigation from a weekend car chase, as the suspect remains free.

The car chase started in Lubbock County where 33-year old Lonnie Poole even tried to run over an officer.  It ended in Hockley County after Poole had been shot by a DPS trooper.

Officials say Poole was treated for his gunshot wounds at University Medical Center and sent home with no police waiting to arrest him.  DPS Corporal John Gonzalez would only say an investigation has to be completed before they file charges against the driver.
