A Central Lubbock woman wants a dangerous dog removed from her neighborhood. Wendy Thomson believes a neighbor's pit mix is responsible for killing six cats in her Heart of Lubbock neighborhood, and she wants Animal Services to take the dog away, but before Animal Services can take action, Thomson, and anyone else worried about killer pets in their neighborhood, has to file a dangerous dog complaint. "It's a tedious process sometimes but that's the system that we live under. And to make everything fair and for us to stay right down the middle we have to follow the due process," says Kevin Overstreet with Animal Services.
Once a dangerous dog complaint is filed with Animal Services, they'll investigate the case, talk with both parties and decide whether or not to hold a hearing. The formal complaint is a small step to take to ensure that dangerous dogs get off the streets and out of your neighborhood.
