Thousands of peanut products are off the shelves at local grocery stores, and consumers are starting to worry that their favorite peanuts may be next. So far, the FDA has recalled more than 2,050 products. United Supermarkets here in Lubbock are doing their part to get those goods off the shelves fast. Once they're alerted by the FDA, United employees have one day to get the products out, count up how many pacakges they have in the store, and destroy them.

"We get our information from manufacturers and distributors as quickly as they are alerted and our grocery department will send out a notification to all of our stores about products that have been added to the mix and our stores immediately respond," says Eddie Owens with United.

United Supermarkets does not carry Peanut Corporation of America products, so they were not affected by the PCA recall. You can check to see which products has been recalled by visiting the FDA's website.
