Lubbock saw record breaking temperatures last week, now it's a very different story.

TxDot called in their crew to get salt trucks ready Wednesday, in anticipation of winter weather.

Driving could be hazardous Wednesday night, so TxDot's liquid magnesium chloride trucks were filled and ready to hit the pavement.

TxDot officials will continue to monitor the weather and send out the first liquid mag chloride truck to pre-treat bridges and overpasses as needed.

"The best thing to do if the weather gets bad is to stay home, but if you have to get out on the roadways, take your time, go slow, give yourself that extra time to get to your destination and if you see our (TxDot) crews out there, give them the room they need to work, to make the roads safe for the traveling public," TxDot's Dianah Ascencio says.
