Happy birthday, Lubbock! The Hub City turned 100 on Monday, and many city leaders were on hand to celebrate the big day.

The Lubbock Civic Center hosted current and former leaders in city government, including former mayors David Miller, Marc McDougal, and Alan Henry, and all city council members. Even the granddaughter of Lubbock's very first mayor--Frank Wheelock--was on hand.

They paid tribute to the hub city, honoring its roots, and remembering their link to Lubbock's long history. Charlotte Kirkpatrick, granddaughter of Frank Wheelock, says, "I cannot believe how I've seen Lubbock grow. I was born in 1921 here and to see what it is today, it's unreal."
