Dining and Dashing Costing Lubbock Restaurants

Most folks wouldn't consider skipping out on their restaurant check, but it seems the struggling economy has more peope 'dining and dashing.'
Managers at Cap Rock Cafe say it's happening four or five times a month now.
Folks will come in, eat, then wait until no one's looking and walk out without paying.
If someone doesn't pay at Cap Rock, the server is stuck footing the bill and one server says she's lost hundreds from folks who've dined and dashed.
"People that do it will come in and spend a good $60 or $70 and you're thinking you're going to get a good tip off of it and then you have to pay that $60 or $70 out of your tips that you make that night," Cap Rock Cafe server, Cassidy Rinehart, says.
Some restaurants are making customers start a tab, even before they order, to cut back on folks who dine and dash.
