On the heels of the federal government's demand to 'shape up,' automakers GM and Ford are offering new plans to get their cars sold. Ford and General Motors are both offering incentive programs designed to lure customers who may be worried about job security.

Ford's plan says if you buy a car, then lose your job unexpectedly within the next year, they'll make your payments for 12 months, up to $700 dollars per month. And GM offers a 2-year security plan, paying up to $500 dollars a month for 9 months.
