Lubbock Woman Survives Beating

Lubbock Police say a woman was held hostage and beaten overnight by her ex-boyfriend.
Ricky Earl Hampton broke down his ex-girlfriend's door at the Applegate Shady Acres mobile home park. Once he got in, police say Hampton then screwed the door shut, trapping the woman, 43-year-old Marcy Pacheco inside the home. Police say Hampton then spent hours beating and kicking Pacheco with a steel-toed boot. Pacheco was finally able to escape out a window when Hampton fell asleep.
"I let him go to sleep and when I heard him snoring I knew he was already asleep real bad so I got up grabbed my clothes, put them on, and went to the back bedroom of my trailer and jumped out the window and took off to the office and that's when I called the police."
Police say Pacheco had placed a protective order against hampton. He's now faces charges of aggravated assault, violation of a protective order. Other charges are pending.
