A Lubbock man is facing felony charges tonight after police say he held his ex-girlfriend hostage overnight and severly beat her. Police say 25-year-old Ricky Earl Hampton broke down the door of his ex-girlfriend's house at the Applegate Shady Acres Mobile Home Park later Tuesday night. He then proceeded to screw it shut, trapping 45-year-old Marcy Pacheco inside. Police say Hampton beat her all night long and strangled her until she passed out. Then, he's accused of sexually assaulting her. Pacheco was able to escape out a window and call for help when Hampton fell asleep. She says she's had a protective order against Hampton since January, but it just wasn't enough to stop him from hurting her again.
Pacheco says, "He kicked me in the head with his steel toed boots and he raped me. I kept trying to get away from him and every time I did he'd always hit me. He'd hit me again over and over."
After Pacheco escaped, she called 911 and police went to her home, kicked in the door, and arrested Hampton. He's facing charges of aggravated assault and violation of a protective order. His bond as been set at $70,000. Other charges against him are pending.
