A local charity is recieving some much needed funding thanks to the winner of ABC's Extreme Makeover American Dream Edition contest. Dara Flynn is a single mother of 4 who volunteers much of her time in the community.

She gave the $5000 to the Children's Home of Lubbock. They house around 80 children who don't have suitable homes. With that money, they've been able to make repairs to one of their special cottages. A much-needed new TV and new furniture is also on the way!

President Lynn Harms says the gift from Dara and ABC means so much, "Keeping a facility like this in good repair demands money, and so to have that gift of a $5000 gift from ABC and from Extreme Makeover. We're all about making over kids, and so to be able to do something with the physical plant is just wonderful."
