The Age Of Unemployment

The US unemployment rate currently stands at 8.6%, and finding a job in this rocky economy is a tough task, no matter what your age. Melissa Martin just graduated from Tech and thought she'd find a job right out of school, but after 6 months of searching and dozens of interviews, she's still waiting to be hired, "I've done over 30 interviews with 10 different companies. It's just trying to get your name out there, and hopefully when the economy shapes up, hopefully people will start calling back."

After steady work her entire life, 40-something Tracy Mason lost her job last month, and says she's back at square-one. She says it's a place she never thought she'd be at this stage in life, "In my last job, I dealt with alot of people who had just lost their jobs, for example, who were calling in to the call center, and I would do all I can to make their bills lower, and assure them 'Oh, you'll get a job soon, don't worry.' And now it feels a little bit ironic."
