Lubbock authorities are investigating the city's third shooting death in less than a week.

Police tell us they were originally responding to a burglary call in the 6200 block of 22nd Street around 11:30 Tuesday night.

But while they were in route to the scene, they learned that shots had been fired with someone injured.

When they arrived, 23-year-old Aldo Cervantes was found dead in the driveway from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses say Cervantes was a friend of the homeowner on 22nd Street and did not live there.

Police are now looking for a tan or cream-colored SUV with large rims.

They believe up to five black males are responsible for the crime.

If you have any information about this crime, you are asked to call CrimeLine at 741-1000.
