Gene Messer Chevrolet is a local dealership affected by GM's bankruptcy. They tell us all their Chevys are still under warranty, and all Chevrolet owners can continue to get parts and service. General Motors' declaring bankruptcy came as no surprise to Gene Messer. GM plans to keep Buick, Cadillac, Chevy and GMC. They'll get rid of Pontiac, and will sell Hummer Saab and Saturn. Now that GM's come clean, they're hoping customers will come back and invest in their products.

"A lot of consumers in the last few months, have been skeptical about coming out to the dealership and doing business with us because of the rumors going around and today is actually a good thing for us, now that people know, they know they're getting another infusion of capital, I think is going to end up being a good thing for us," says Pete Ruiz with Gene Messer.

Right now Gene Messer has no plans for any lay offs.
