The Innocence Project of Texas is reaching out to convicted felons across the state - and hoping to help some regain their freedom.
In the past, the group has worked with a majority of wrongfully convicted criminals just in Dallas county. But now - with the help of a $25,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation - they're branching out.
What the Innoncence Project of Texas will do with the extra funding is find more men and women like Timothy Cole - a Tech student wrongfully convicted of rape back in 1986. Cole was exonerated of the crime after he died in jail, but this non-profit group wants to find more people state-wide still serving time for crimes they didn't commit.
