KLBK has learned that Mayor Tom Martin wants to discuss a settlement with The Parker Group/AAG this Thursday during an executive council session.

Executive sessions are not open to the public.

The Parker Group and its owner Ted Parker have been accused by the City of Lubbock of taking $6 million in wrongful commissions while acting as the city's third part health insurance negotiator.

This issue is also at the center of the FBI's investigation into wire and health insurance fraud.

Several council members have said they are outraged and will against a settlement.

Councilman Paul Bean, Councilman John Leonard and Mayor Tom Martin have all taken Parker related campaign donations at one point or another during their political careers.

Councilwoman Linda Deleon said she feels there is a personal agenda being pressed with this settlement.
