For the first time in years, congestion and construction are clearing up along the Marsha Sharp Freeway. Wednesday, the Texas Department of Transportation opened the longest stretch of freeway yet. You can now drive on Marsha Sharp all the way from Chicago to Quaker, and that includes the bridge across Slide Road. Business owners beside the construction are looking forward to less traffic.

"People can get here quicker, instead of going to a different place that they can just drive right in and park and bring their dogs in or people will see it too. There'll be more traffic coming through this way and they'll see our big yellow sign and it'll help out a lot," says Pet Company's Amber Carithers.

TxDOT says they'll have traffic signs up and all construction complete by the end of the year.
