Lubbock police are investigating another suspicious death in Northeast Lubbock.

Captain Greg Stevens with LPD tells us it was a utility worker who discovered the body in a Northeast Lubbock field Monday afternoon.

Detectives discovered the badly decomposed body near the 2500 block of North Guava, that's just Southeast of the Lubbock International Airport.

They've yet to identify the victim, but say it was that of a young male between the ages of 18 and 25.

He was found in St. John's Bay blue jeans, a white tee shirt and black or navy blue Vans tennis shoes.

Investigators also say he had on a cross necklace made out of green and white plastic.

"We are asking if anyone knows that someone is missing, meets that description, that's gone missing in the last week to two or three months, and again those are estimates at the time that this person has been down in this area," Capt. Greg Stevens with LPD says.

Autopsy results will later determine the cause of death, but detectives are combing the surrounding area for evidence.
