Police are still looking for clues into the death of a man found dead in a field in North Lubbock County. Earlier Monday, the medical examiner identified the body as that of a man, but further details are still sketchy. Police say a water utility worker discovered the body in a rugged area just south east of the airport around 3 Monday afternoon. Police are investigating this as a homicide and they want the public's help identifying the body.
"The individual is in fact wearing blue jeans and a black leather belt, and black or dark blue Van type shoes, the Vans shoes and they are the lace up version, they're not the slip on, they are lace up. White or Hispanic, somewhere between the ages of 18 and 25 years-old, approximate height is going to be somewhere between 5'6" to 5'9"," says Captain Greg Stevens with the Lubbock Police Department.
Stevens says they'll have officers out on horseback Tuesday morning to cover the wide area and look for any evidence. They'll also have ATV's out here because there's a big expanse of land to cover in this investigation.
