Police are working around the clock to identify the dead man found in Northeast Lubbock Monday. Police say a water utility worker found the man in a rural spot, just southeast of the airport - on East Municipal and Guava. Because of the rugged terrain and brush surrounding the area, they brought in big equipment to search for clues. Detectives on horseback and ATV's canvassed the area, searching for evidence that may help them determine the dead man's identity.
"We found a couple of items of interest, whether they turn out to be anything or not I don't know, but their whole job is just to get out there and find stuff that just doesn't look like it's supposed to be there," says Cpl. Mark Long with Lubbock Police.
The autopsy started at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, and they plan to complete the exam Wednesday morning.
