Police say 35-year-old Daniel Robert Parker was out in his boat on Lake Alan Henry last night.  Sometime around
8 PM, he fell out of his boat at which point he may have hit his head on the side.

Captain Greg Stevens of the Lubbock Police Department recounted the frantic scene that took please after Parker's fall.

"He went overboard from the vessel as it was underway. And again, the other seven people onboard immediately noticed he had gone overboard, saw him go overboard, and began to try to rescue him. Other boats in the area, other people in the area joined into that, and unfortunately were unable to find him," Stevens said.

For whatever reason, Parker never did surface.  Dive teams unsuccessfully searched for Parker until midnight.

They began searching again this morning and found Parker's body 38 feet below the water.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

KLBK cannot confirm at this time what exactly led to Mr. Parker's death. For now, the body has been taken to the Office of the Lubbock Medical Examiner. An official cause of death will be determined there.
