The City Health Department is warning people in Lubbock of an outbreak of Crypto.

The water born parasite causes diarrhea and can severely affect people with weak immune systems.

The Center for Disease Control states that crypto cases have been on the rise in public pools and water parks since 2005.

Health officials are asking people to wash their hands frequently and do not go swimming for two weeks if you have had diarrhea for more than a few day.

Crypto is able to survive in chlorinated water for long periods of time.
