Two men remain in police custody, accused of sexually assaulting two 12-year-old Lubbock girls.
18-year-old Theodes Shells and 19-year-old Joshua Willis are charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
We're told two 12-year-old girls didn't return home Tuesday night and were reported as runaways.
Family members found the girls Wednesday afternoon and they told those family members two men held them against their will and sexually assaulted them inside a unit of the Morocco Apartments.
It was at that point, family members of the girls went to confront the suspects and police were called to the scene during that confrontation.
Both girls were later examined at Covenant Medical Center.
"There are two victims and two suspects and both assaults occurred at the same location, you don't see that happening very often, so that adds a degree of complications to the investigations," Lt. Neal Barron with the Lubbock Police Department says.
Aggravated sexual assault is a first degree felony, punishable by a sentence of up to life in prison.
