Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Longar Longar recorded a double-double with 19 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in helping to lead the Oklahoma Sooners to a 75-61 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Big 12 Conference action from the Lloyd Noble Center.
Nate Carter came up a rebound short of his own double-double for the Sooners (13-8, 4-4 Big 12) as he tallied 24 points in the team`s second straight win. Michael Neal chipped in with 18 points as well.
The Red Raiders (15-8, 4-4), losers of three in a row, were paced by Jarrius Jackson who connected on 12-of-25 shots from the floor to finish with a game- high 31 points, followed by Martin Zeno with 20 points and 10 boards in the losing effort.
Despite shooting a mere 3-of-11 behind the three-point line in the first half, the Sooners still played well enough to take a 30-27 lead at the break.
In the second half Oklahoma feasted at the free-throw line, 20-of-24, not to mention shooting 50 percent from the field in picking up the 14-point win at home.
The difference in the contest came at the free-throw line where OU outscored the visitors, 23-9.
