The countdown to kickoff continues.

Texas Tech Football is now just 22 days away from their first game and the Jones Stadium expansion is well under way.

Both the north and east sides of the stadium are under construction.

The north side remodel is expected to provide an additional 6,000 seats and be finished by the Texas A&M game in October, while the east side expansion won't be completed until the start of the 2010 season.

"We've been filling up the stadium pretty consistently for several years and we had this in the plans and it was part of our master plan to do this for several years," Texas Tech Athletic Director, Gerald Myers says.

Myers says parking is going to be the biggest problem this season.

He says the east side construction has limited the number of spaces in that lot.
