An arrest warrant has been issued for the woman involved in a fatal hit and run accident over the weekend.  Now her lawyer is coming forward about her involvement.

26-year-old Jessica Tanguma gave her official statement to police Monday.  Her attorney, Jeff Nicholson, held a press conference about the accident this afternoon.  He says Tanguma picked up her ex-boyfriend early Sunday morning from Tequila Jungle.  As she was changing lanes down 50th Street, she struck 21-year-old Luis Hernandez.  Nicholson says Tanguma was not under the influence and at the time, did not realize she had hit a person.

"She's gonna carry this with her, but she can have some relief knowing that it was just an accident and probably Mr. Hernandez was more responsible for what happened to him than she was."

Officials are waiting for a toxicology report on Hernandez to find out his blood alcohol level.  Tanguma is charged with failure to stop and render aid.
