County Judge The Center Of Protest

Even after Lubbock County Judge Tom Head made a public apology, critics and supporters of the Judge still took to the courthouse lawn to voice their opinions on the sign that started it all.
Several weeks ago, a sign displaying photos of arrested men and women wearing Obama tee shirts was posted by Judge Head on a courthouse bulletin board.
Critics argued that sign was racially motivated, but Judge Head says it was only meant to spark political discussion.
The East, Northeast Neighborhood Coalition organized a peaceful protest Friday afternoon, where both sides expressed their opinions on the issue.
"I have on an Obama shirt and I'm not a criminal. I've never been arrested in my life," Judge Head critic, Jan Caffey, says.
"That's not his heart. That's not who he is. He isn't an offensive person like that. They've taken it and made it in to something that it's not and something that he's not," Judge Head supporter, Michelle Acevedo, says.
Judge Head was invited to speak at the assembly, but we're told a County Commissioner's meeting kept him from doing so.
