Lockney High Students: Back to School

By: Danielle Todesco
Updated: August 23, 2009

As Lockney High School students go back to school Monday, they still have no permanent home.

The fourth wall was torn down Friday and now disposal must begin on the asbestos remains.  Principal Todd Hallmark says construction will begin during this school year, and with their portables right across the street, they'll watch as the new school is built.

"I'm hoping for a great year.  We're gonna have a great year and during that year we're gonna be seeing our school take shape.  Before long they're gonna be working on our science department and our library and that'll be kinda coming back together and once they get that part of it done then we'll see work being done on our main part of the building.  So it'll be an exciting year."

He says they expect the school's completion by the end of 2011.
