Five Arrested In Drug Bust

Five people are arrested after a drug bust in South Lubbock Thursday.

It happened around 5:30 Thursday afternoon.

Police served a warrant to 1801 66th Street and uncovered narcotics inside the apartment.

Lubbock Police Lt. Roy Bassett tells us this isn't the first time his nacotics team has worked this area.

He says the narcotics unit, assisted by the Lubbock SWAT team, developed information that crack cocaine was being sold out of that apartment.

Five people were arrested including 24-year-old Richard Tamlin, 32-year-old Bobby Dewayne Jones, 40-year-old Marcel McDade, 22-year-old Sergio Kelly and 24-year-old Billy Ray Westbrook.

Each is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
