Lubbock, TexasDave Campbell’s Texas Football is proud to announce that the Lubbock Westerners have been named the Army Strong Team of the Week for Division 5A.  The Westerners were chosen for this honor because of their commitment to loyalty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personal courage and teamwork.   In one of the longest rivalries in West Texas, Lubbock came through with one of its best defensive efforts in years,” said Adam Hochfelder, general manager of Dave Campbell's Texas Football.   The award will be presented to the team at a time to be determined later this week.“  The U.S. Army is very proud of the student-athletes at Lubbock who demonstrate the qualities exhibited within the Army – those include leadership, commitment to excellence and a desire to make a difference as a member of a team,” said Captain Javier Bilbao, Commander of the Lubbock Recruiting Company.  “Who knows? We just might see some of these guys from the Westerners playing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, or the college level, or maybe the pros.”  Football players and Soldiers share similar values, such as teamwork, dedication, discipline and loyalty.
